Nigeria 07..Whats the score?
Good leadership is theoretically within reach Utomi, Duke, etc, yet we spend most of our time and energy writing about Babangida's candidacy, aren't we getting too cozy with negative chatter? Shouldn't Nigeria's citizen journalist/bloggers be more focused on pushing these candidates as far as their lean wallets will allow. Are we really as powerless against the money bag politicians as we often portray. If the voices of the people were so powerless, OBJ and his gang wouldn't bother with outlets like Saharareporters.com. However, they do, because the voice of the people, no matter how faint will stand in judgement again those who rape Nigeria.
Let us stand for good governance now, so that we would not spend the subsequent 4 years talking about thieving and impeachments. That's my one cent on that issue.
Now to my two cent, I believe whoever is willing to throw money around for the votes of Nigerians should be encourage to do so. Really such individuals should be milked dry until they have no more to spend. However on election day I implore Nigerians young and old to vote for the lifestyle they intend to live between 2007 and 2011. Four years is a terrible resource to waste in the life of a Nation. Recently, I read an article about IT development in India, this article jarred me, because while we spent a huge chunk our own time debating petty issues. India with all its problems still emerge as a nation to reckon with in the field IT. Think Nigeria think. Now that is my second cent.
