When robots take over?

It's 12.30 a.m on Monday morning; buzz, buzz, buzz , my friend is online and she is throwing a huge fit. Then she goes, T-mobile is not working!!!! T-mobile is not working!!! I am like its almost 1 a. m. who cares, but she would not have any of that. What did folks do before cellphones, handhelds and other always online gizmos. These gadgets were introduced with promises of increased productivity and reduction in our stress levels; has these been the case? Do we love tech toys just for the sake of tech, and nothing more? I wonder o.
Tech adoption has been blamed for, poor memory, ADD a la multi-tasking, insomnia, job loss.

Talking about loss of job, hm there is this story our old Profs told us in school right, for some weird reason I looked up the story on wikipedia and guess what, its all fables. I am firing an email to one of those teachers right now. I know he would give me one of those lengthy replies. Stay tuned.
Here is the wikipedia entry for the story, about the origin of the word Saboteur.
Wikipedia entry for saboteur..The name derives from early in the Industrial Revolution. It is often said that powered looms could be damaged by angry or disgruntled workers throwing their wooden shoes or clogs (known in French as sabots) into the machinery, effectively clogging the machinery. This is often referenced as one of the first inklings of the Luddite Movement. However, this etymology is highly suspect and no wooden shoe sabotage is known to have been reported from the time of the word's origin
