Nigerian Accent

As I sit here watching the going-ons (yepa, common entrance, I don fail o) of the NY fashion week on TV, there is no shortage of the Italian and British accents. The British accents reminds of good novels set in country side. The Italian accent sends signals of haute clothes, the French accent, good food and wine. The Americans seem to be have a slight sense of inferiority about their accent though, hey this is my opinion, just me. What comes to mind when you hear that thick Nigerian accent? What thoughts are triggered as you here Professor Komolafe deliver that well thought out lecture at New York Institute of Technology? What is the most prevalent occupation amongst Nigerians living abroad? Can I have some 'whora', whoha', 'wohar' sorry water. The struggles of a Nigerian immigrant, kai if only OBJ and his crew will fix home-country. To add water to injury it is like zero degrees Farenheit today. Chei man pikin don suffer o.

Niger Delta
Have you seen this photo-essay on the Niger Delta? I got this link from Naijablog, wow Nigeria needs a change of heart. Little wonder the oil companies are declaring record profits. Its sickening to see my people suffer so much in the midst of plenty. My suspicions are that Nigeria is contributing more than its fair share to those bajillion dollars.

Bears
We lost the superbowl.
