Life or death

So something has been on my mind lately. Its about our country Nigeria. Does anyone remember the concept of speaking life into our situations, for example raising children, it is the parents responsibility to speak positive things into the children's life, if you tell a child that he/she will amount to nothing, guess what? they will keep that promise and amount to nothing, you tell a man he will amount to nothing? o boy wives, mothers, girlfriends- everybody gosh this hurts deeply that we don;t FULLY understand the power in the words that we speak, oh my! am I learning this, once spoken you can;t take it back, its like a snap shot, it is but a moment, you can't have that moment back.
So back to Nigeria, for the first time I find my heart bleeding for Nigeria, yeah my home, my country. Looking at it like things will work themselves out hopefully in the next 20-25 years then I may go back and if it doesn't oh well, I didn't feel like I had much of a responsibility in that, gotta be honest. hm I spoke so much negativity into that country because it was the way I felt and that was what I heard all around me, no hope, it ain't never gonna get better, corruption ain't going no where, that country is finished. For the first time, I learned how to pray for my country, I'm not talking about one sentence, I'm talking about really praying and not just once, but making it part of my prayer life. I'm very curious as to how many people do that, will you add that to your response if you do decide to respond. Are we praying for Nigeria or are we going to continue to curse Nigeria, are we speaking life or death to this country, our country. Our families still live there, our friends and strangers that we don't know. I know we don't intend to curse them too, but indirectly we are. So will you decide to start praying for Nigeria as from today? Will you hope for better things for it and think positive things of it? or will you be as I was ? INDIFFERENT? Will we pray that God's will be done in the elections or just wait to hear some crazy news about somebody else getting killed in politics. This is the first step for me, maybe you are beyond this step already, hopefully we'll continue together.
Please visit joromi.com if you haven't already. Be blessed!

Funny how I was just mentioning a related event to someone this morning. Hmm...the power of the tongue

Yes o...we need to start speaking positive into our country and also pray more like you mentioned. I pray for Nigeria but not as much as I should. We really do need to intercede on behalf of our nation.

Personally i think it’s a pointless exercise
Nigeria is like medieval France, the people holding us hostage will never give up their privileges until we fight back. I'm not really too concerned that things will get too violent as i know our boys in khaki will step in before the country fragments.

Unfortunately for our short sighted greedy politicians, what they don't realise is that Obj has neutralised the threat from the more 'reasonable senior officers of the military' so if there's a military coup in naija (and it's likely there'll be one if the same events play out this weekend) it would be carried out by the junior/middle ranking ones and guess what will happen? anyone remember 1966??

btw are you removing comments that don't agree with your post, as i've noticed that the previous comment was removed
