Marrying Outside Your Cute-gory

What do you think about mixed marriage, oh no racial undertone here, this isn't about hitching a partner on a different rung of the social ladder either. This is about getting married to someone on an entirely different cuteness platform. Picture yourself at a crowded owambe party, you spot a couple, (its easy to tell because they'd be rocking matching lace outfits). Let us assume for an instant that the guy is rocking handsome, and the wife hm is more of the beauty lies within shade. Do you ever ask questions like, wow how did she do it? Do you ever search for alternative reasons that 'caused' this marriage to occur?
My opinion is that Nigerians are more forgiving of the so-so male with hot female union than the hunky male with so-so female union. The sociologists also tell us that the more cosmopolitan a society gets the more attention that society pay to looks. Therefore the higher the premium paid for good looks. This will eventually lead to an increasing wage gap between the pretty and the not so pretty.
Is this trend observable in corporate Nigeria, are cuter individuals paid more in Lagos than their blander counterparts? If so does this hold for both male and female?

Inspired by Linda Luscome's article in the Time magazine.

im not sure that they would get paid more... but it seems likely... i mean if you had two ppl w/the same qualifications, ud probably hire the cuter person... so...

actually i think better looking people (better put togetehr people) are likely to command more admiration then respect from those evaluating them. I've been guilty of leaning towards interns who are better looking/better dressed even if they were a bit less qualified on paper.
