NTA: Come On Now...

Please take a look at Nigerian Television Authorities website, isn't it time for a few able Nigerian web designer volunteer their services to Nigeria's premier TV station. This is prime internet real estate being wasted. I wish NTA would allow webmasters to help them out. In two weeks a few designers could collaboratively put a killer site up. I believe we as a people are at the point where we should start taking matters into our own hands.
Rest in peace K., 27 is such your age.

Why should folks volunteer? NTA is a commercial entity for God's sake. They should be able to pay for professional service.

BBC, CNN, ABC, SABC websites are not designed/run by volunteers.

It's all about priorities. Having a professional and regularly updated website is obviously not a priority for NTA. Finito...

If you do a little digding you will discover that the contract to build a comprehensive site has been awarded...not once and several years back!

Akinsaid...

Did the mobilisation fee include finding out what exactly the contract that was won was about?

I have come to believe that winning contracts is mainly a middle-man's game who then sub-contract that to other middle-men till there is nothing to pay the sub-contractor bottom-feeder who really knows what is to be done.

We can assume that is what INEC did with the elections, it was sub-contracted so much that when it got down to those who knew about elections, there were no resources to run it at all - the money left would only sponsor the plain drinks at the interview.

My though on this is that, it is a known fact that this people have failed, and very little is going to be done about the present state of events. Shouldn't the crowd take over . Thanks for coming by my blog.

So they awarded a contract for the site, eh? Typical. I was going to say that NTA would never accept Nigerian volunteers but would rather pay a German or English developer to do the work instead.

I wonder who got the contract. Any ideas, Imnakoya?

@Omodudu: thanks for your comments on the terrorism post. I was very curious about the silence on the issue in bloNGville. Merci.

Lossaid...

So your blog is sick. Gla I found you via Virb. Keep it up.

$50 billion in oil money and this is the best the NATIONAL TV broadcasting station can do...what a shame...I agree with the first poster...nobody should volunteer and if it is true that they awarded the contract already, then whoever received the funds should be ashamed of themselves
