I've heard about his villa, heard that it's really palatial. Interesting article in today's newspapers about Wole Soyinka and Babangida....
This is incredible, this is why I like blogs. The newspapers will never show you things like this.
hmmmm
i also hope that this is false.
else
we need to raid this SOB place and redistribute the wealth
starting in his one state
I want to believe that someone is playing pranks. To me, I found it difficult to believe. How do they come about the pictures, who took it and when? Where was the owner of the house when it was taken? I beg I need more proof.
The house shown is not IBB's house in Minna that was built by Julius Berger Nigeria Limited in the late 1980's.
I have been to some of the houses near his house in Minna and it does not look like anything in these pictures.
The building in Minna Niger state that I know has a few similarities to the house in the picture with tall Corinthian columns was built in 1988 by one Alhaji Bagudu in GRA Minna which far from where IBB house is.
The trees in the background picture even tell you that the house is probabaly located in the Mediteranean area and not Minna Niger State.
Last time I checked, it was confirmed that this is not IBB's house. But we will keep checking!...I hope not - that will be a slap to all of us Nigerians for despotic IBB to own a house of this magnitude with our country's stolen wealth!!
The problem I have with annonymous comment is that the veracity of the claims can not be made. Now how do we know this annonymous person ain't no IBB boy. ehn? But really how much would it cost to build this house...I'd say maybe 10million dollars max...That is a drop in dudes ocean of wealth.
It would be nice if we knew for certain whether or not this house belonged to IBB or any other military ruler. Unfortunately, no one is 100% sure.
Nevertheless, I can imagine that several former despots have houses like this all over the world. That is what being rich is about, regardless of how you came upon your fortune.
And as for the palm trees, yes, they suggest Mediterranean, but with money and a good landscaper, you can transform almost any terrain into the 'Mediterranean', regardless of location.
He sure can afford a house like this. After all the gulf oil windfall money was never properly accounted for.
I loove Sahara reporters, and wish i was lucky enough to catch some politician in a lavish act so i could contribute...i've definitely seen these pictures in a forward before so it's possible that they are really of his pad. and even if they're not, i'd bet these fotos are still on the right track.
thanks for stopping by the Afro Beat.
I wonder why you're all surprise. You need to know pple who are close to this guys an hear them tell you stories about their lifestyle.Common Ibori former Gov of Delta state can build as many of this if he so desire, why not IBB? OBJ nko? My brother once worked for his carton producing firm at Abeokuta and you can imagine how Nigerians were exploited to make so much wealth for himself.MY brother had to resign out of frustration.
Never do like anonymous comment, why defend something that is soooooooo veeeeeeery WRONG.
The man is a rich man so it is expected that his house would be palatial.
No need crying over that.
A billionaire lives a billionaire life style. Simple.
What is important is the judiciary system. Our Courts are totally impotent to enforce any rule of law. If the Rule of Law is not respected, there will be avenues for more looting.
Naija people shout too much when they see evidence of corruption as if they didn't know that officials 'chop daily' even as I type.
Go to any police station in Nigeria and report that your Governor is corrupt and see what happens.
Early this year the Police here in the UK were actually questioning Tony Blair in respect of the 'Cash for Honours' saga.
Many 9jas does even know it is the Police that should arrest a man wey chop money. Some Police don't even know. Now all they do is arrest fine girls in 'inapproriate clothes'. Shebi na Vogue instead of Police manual dem dey read.
Abeg, leave Babangida alone.
The system maketh the individuals
